What is ‘sequencing markets’?

“Sequencing markets” is a strategy for growing a product. Begin with an extremely specific target market, and capture this before expanding. Here’s my current market sequence plan for Vidrio:

  1. iOS programming screencasts (e.g. “how to create an iOS app”). These people have Macs and are adventurous :)
  2. Programming screencasts (e.g. “how to use nano”)
  3. Screencasts (e.g. “how to use Adobe Premiere Pro”)
  4. Recorded presentations (e.g. “How Golang’s GC works”)
  5. Live presentations
  6. Two-way conversations
I just released Vidrio, a free app for macOS and Windows to make your screen-sharing awesomely holographic. Vidrio shows your webcam video on your screen, just like a mirror. Then you just share or record your screen with Zoom, QuickTime, or any other app. Vidrio makes your presentations effortlessly engaging, showing your gestures, gazes, and expressions. #1 on Product Hunt. Available for macOS and Windows.
